Our farm, the Fattoria il Casalone di Pepi Lignana, is located along the coastal strip of the Tuscan Maremma, in front of the eastern lagoon of Orbetello (GR).

A wonderful territory subject to environmental protection, which we respect and love: an element on which our identity as winemakers-artisans is based, capable of transferring singular and authentic aspects to our "Pepi Lignana" labels, punctually highlighted by the numerous reviews of the trade press.

In these lands, the cultivation of vines dates back to ancient times and already the Leopoldino Land Registry of the early 1800s indicated the Colombi Vineyard for its uniqueness and strong personality, hence the name of some wines.

We have been winemakers since 1960, we take care of our land as the most precious wealth, to grasp and constantly improve this indissoluble combination between the work of man and the best that nature offers.

Ours is an innovative company that will introduce you to the important oenological and traditional heritage of this area.

Giuseppe Lignana, a successful engineer of Piedmontese origins, is the owner of the Fattoria il Casalone estate.

Knight of Labor of the Italian Republic with a long and brilliant career in the industrial world.

Combining the love for the territory and its traditional vines, with the desire to experiment with international varieties.

Together with his sons Corrado and Diego, the fourth generation of winemakers is growing.

The history of the brand

Pepi Lignana Wine

In 1817 the Grand Duke Leopold of Tuscany began the drafting of a modern Land Registry of the land of the Tuscan Maremma, the Leopoldino Land Registry, which noted the vineyards already existing in the land of the Fattoria il Casalone.

We have dedicated the "Leopoldino" and "Don Leo" wines to the genius of the Grand Duke.

Finally, to pay homage to the noble Sangiovese, we have chosen to call it "Cerida".

The Cerida, launched in 1938, still participates in the Regattas of historic boats.

It later earned a place of honor inside the Navy Museum in Greenwich – London.
